Search for Sites and Services

To open the HSD Search page:

Select from the navigation menu.

The HSD Search page gives you the following options to perform a search for Sites, Services and Practitioners:

Simple Sites and Services Search - by entering criteria in one or more of the fields in the first section
Sites, Services and Practitioner Tab Search - by entering criteria to refine your search in both the first section and the tabs on the second sections.

Simple Search

To perform a simple search on the Sites and Services directory:

Enter one or more search criteria in the following fields.

Keywords
Name of Agency/Site/Practitioner or
Suburb/Town or Postcode.

Refer to the table below for more details of how to enter information into each field.
Click to run the search.

The Search Results page will display any records that match the details you have entered.

You can narrow your search by entering details in more than one field.

Simple Search Field Descriptions
Name to search by	What to do
Keywords	Select a Keyword from the drop-down list of common keywords OR Type text that should be included in the keywords or service description for the the service, e.g. geriatric . The system assumes AND logic but will also accept OR logic. For example, if you enter Acquired Brain Injuries, the search will return any sites with the words Acquired* and Brain and Injuries in the keywords or service description, in other words all three words need to be found. However, if you enter Acquired OR Brain Injuries, the search will return any sites with the word Acquired on it's own as well as any sites with Brain and Injuries (both words need to be found).
Name of Agency/Site/Practitioner	Type an agency, site or practitioner name, e.g. Moorabbin Chiropractic, to search for services or practitioners with the name. The results will be sorted to firstly display sites where the site name starts with the string entered, e.g. Moorabbin Chiropractic Medical Centre. Sites where the string entered is part of the site name, but not at the beginning, will be displayed below the list with the better match, e.g. East Moorabbin Chiropractic Clinic. If you know the name of the organisation you are looking for, you do not need to enter details in the other fields. Simply key in the organisation name and the results will display all the locations for that organisation. For example, to find all the locations where the Salvation Army provides it services, enter Salvation Army in this field.
Suburb/Town or Postcode	Type the suburb, town or postcode to search for all services from the location., e.g. Moorabbin.
Include surrounding suburbs	Check this box to include the surrounding suburbs of the suburb or postcode entered in Suburb/Town or Postcode.

Tab Search

This search allows you to further narrow down your selection for Sites and Services:

select one or more of the tabs for the following categories and enter the required fields:
Services, Availability and Practitioner
refer to the tables for more details of how to enter information for each category
click to run the search.

The Search Results page will display any Site records that match the details you have entered.

Services Tab Field Descriptions
Name to search by	What to do
Service category	Select a category of service from the drop-down list , e.g. Chiropractic, to search for services who offer the service.
Free Services Only	Check this box to search for a service that does not charge.
City of/Shire of:	Select the city or shire from the drop-down list, e.g. Kingston. To increase the chances of the site appearing in the Search Results a site can be assigned to multiple Cities or Shires. Contact our Content Managers to update the HSD database with your City or Shire details.
Primary Care Partnership	Select a primary care partnership region from the drop-down list, e.g. Kingston Bayside Catchment.
Target Group	Type the target group, e.g. Pre-school children.

Availability Tab Field Descriptions
Name to search by	What to do
After Hours Only	Check this box to search for a service that has after hours availability.
Open between, and	Select specific opening hours from this pair of drop-down list to search for a service that is open in the time range entered.
Available Days	Select an option from the drop-down list to search for a service open on a particular day, e.g. Tuesday. Note that the default option is Any day.
Show public holidays in the list	Check this box to search for a service that is open on public holidays.

Practitioner Tab Field Descriptions
Name to search by	What to do
Given Name	Type the given name of the practitioner you would like to search for, e.g. John.
Family Name	Type the family name of the practitioner you would like to search for, e.g. Smith.
Sex	Select the sex of the practitioner you would like to search for from the drop-down list available, e.g. Male.
Speciality	Select a specialty from the drop-down list available to search for a practitioner with a particular specialty, e.g. Acupuncturist.
Appointments not Required	Check this box to search for a practitioner where no appointment is required.
Language Spoken	Select a language from the drop-down list available to search for a practitioner who speaks a particular language, e.g. Chinese.
Ethnicity	Select an ethnic group from the drop-down list available, e.g. French.
Special Interests	Type a special interest to search for a practitioner with a special interest, e.g bone.

New Search

If you want to perform a new search, click to refresh all the fields with their default values.
